Bright red leaves, chilly nights, crispy crunchy apples… must be fall

Happy Fall Ya’ll!

I’m pulling my nose out of the website project to share some ideas for fall.

It’s my favorite time of year. All the good fresh produce available both at the grocery stores and in the roadside stands. Makes me feel healthy just thinkin’ about it.
I’ve eaten so much corn on the cob this year, I’m surprised I don’t have a yellowish caste to my skin. Really… I ate a lot.

So just to please Susan, who was so very pleasant on the phone this afternoon, I’m posting these 3 three little beauties.
The fonts I’ve used are a couple that I really love, are not currently shown on the website because they only work well for certain things – namely large and simple things.

harvestPerfect for autumn decor, this is sized to fit an 8 x 24 board. For those who want to put it directly on the wall, the exact size is 6 x 22.

Vinyl letters only is $10.00. The finished, ready to hang on your wall, sign sells for $25.00.

gratitudeIt’s not just for Thanksgiving. I need one of these where I can look at it every day.
This one is also 6 x 22 inches.
Vinyl letters only is $10.00. Finished sign is $25.00

give_thanksI love a nice Old English font!
Size is 4 x 34 – perfect for a 6 x 36″ board.
Vinyl letters only: $10.00, and the complete ready to hang sign is $28.00.

I’ve had several people inquiring as to whether we will do custom designs.

Heck Yeah!
That’s what we do here.  You choose your quote… it doesn’t have to be something from our website, you choose your font and color and tell me how big you need it to be.  It’s helpful if you have already measured the area or surface that you are applying the letters to, so that I can make it fit absolutely perfectly for you.

Maybe if I show you how it's done, you'll realize what a genius I am… maybe

I am often asked for graphics and special custom designs, and then the asker passes out when I explain what is involved in the process of creating a vector image from scratch. Contrary to popular belief, there’s more to it than just scanning an image.

So just cuz I think it will be fun and because I need some motivation to finish up this little project, I’ll show you the steps it takes to create an original image and prepare it to be produced in cut vinyl.

First you need an idea. Sometimes this is the hardest part, but I already know what I want to create so we’re good to go.

I need some little love birds. (awwwww)

I have a graphic tablet and pen for drawing and painting on the computer and I use it a lot in Photoshop. In fact, the little crazy lady in my blog title was created that way.  But for a black and white vector image I’m still happier working the old fashioned way with pencil and paper and a scanner.
So here’s what the first step looks like:

It’s pretty rough, but it gives me an idea of shape and proportion.

I like a good hard lead artist pencil. Keeps me from making lines that are difficult to erase when I get to the next step.
I’m working on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of good printing paper. Something that will give me a good sharp line and little marker bleed when I move on to….

The next step which I will post later.

Ha! I know you won’t be able to sleep tonight from all the suspense.

I love it when someone suggests a phrase that defines me

Seriously

What happened to the guy who didn't pay his exorcist? He got repossessed!

Raise your hand if you love Halloween.

Raise your hand if you get carried away with Halloween every year. (Diana, I’m sending you some stuff, so put your hand down.)

I’m just here to help with the decorating.

Frankie’s is 6″ x 22″ and sells for an amazingly low 10.00.  (that’s just the vinyl)
As always, the color is up to you.

Happy Haunting to All and to All a Good Fright

BYOB = Bring Your Own Boos

My personal favorite and one that I intend to put on the back window of my car: “My other ride is a broom.”

So… how ’bout you? Got any funnies I can steal and turn into clever, hauntingly hilarious signage?  (chances are very good that you’ll be rewarded)
