Poem: I Promise Myself
Love this one, and it’s just what I needed to read today.
To be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet.
To make all my friends feel that there is something worth while in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of
others as I am about my own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the
greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile
to every living creature I meet.
To give so much time to improving myself that I
have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of myself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud word, but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on my side,
so long as I am true to the best that is in me.

Update on our New Website
It seems like all I do is sit at the computer.
That’s not entirely true, because sometimes I get up to get a drink and a snack.
The crunch is on to get the new Writings-onthewall.com site up and going. It’s a lot of work and a lot of hours testing things to make sure everything works the way it should. Now it’s just a matter of uploading all great new products we have that you have never seen. Our tried a true favorites will be there too.
Family Home Evening charts have been a hit for us, so I’ve added a few new variations. Family signs and clocks… yep the new and the old.
Can’t wait to show you our new dry-erase wall vinyl and some of our spectacular new graphics and some that we’ve always had, but have never had on the website before.
It’s very exciting!
So….
If you try to visit our website in the next few days and it takes a little longer to load, or you get a “page not available” message, please don’t think that anything is wrong, we’re just changing things around a bit.
It's the 2009 version of cave painting
When I arrived at the shop Monday morning, this was what I found.
It would seem that the “white board” fairy visited over the weekend and left me a present.
I think it’s absolutely precious, so I took its picture before someone comes along and erases it.
Skylar is a nine year old beanpole, and she is quite the social butterfly. As you can see, she’s a cutey too.
Notice the stylish hair that swoops over one eye.
The part that I really love is her message at the bottom:
“To Becky and 60 other Hathaways.”
Yeah, she’s got that right… there’s about that many of us.
Just to deepen your whiteboard envy, I picked up this little gem at the thrift store for $2.00.
It’s worth 20 times that much just for the picture that’s on it now.
Even though the Holiday season begins way too early… it's not ALL bad!
The Christmas season is upon us.
That means long hours at work making sure everyone gets their order as quickly as possible. We’ve been busy with Enrichment projects, Super Saturdays, and family party orders.
I love this time of year. I complain because everything is so frantic that I start to lose my sanity, but it’s only for a few weeks.
I love getting to talk to customers – friends – who’ve ordered from me over the years who call to order new things, giving us the chance to catch up a little. As I’ve said before, the people I get to talk to every day are the best part of what I do.
Another great thing about the Holiday season is the specialty items that show up in the stores that you can’t get any other time of the year. Different flavors of hot chocolate, mint flavored M&Ms, chocolate covered peanut clusters, chocolate covered anything….
And these…
I love them so much.
I bought 5 boxes, but I know that isn’t enough, especially if I want to share.
So I’m pretty sure I’ll be laying in a supply and then rationing so they’ll last a good long time.
All I can say is
YUM!!!
